Compassion
International grew from the desire of
one man to help children in need.
Rev. Everett Swanson was moved by the plight of Korean orphans as he preached there in the early 1950s. He went on to establish a program through which caring people could sponsor needy Korean children for a few dollars a month. In turn, those children would be provided benefits including food and clothing as needed, education, shelter, health care, and Christian training. Swanson's program was the basis for what became Compassion International. Compassion's work has since expanded to 22 countries—including the United States—providing life-changing benefits for needy children with or without families. Dear Friend, Hi, this is Amy Grant. I just wanted you to know about an opportunity to let God use you in a very special way. By sponsoring a child, you can become a hero to one needy child who lives in extreme poverty. I sponsor two boys from Guatemala, and it has been a privilege to watch God work in their lives. If you don’t already sponsor a child, I encourage you to consider it. For less than a dollar a day, you can make a powerful difference in the life of a needy child. Click on the link below to learn more about sponsoring a child through Compassion. You can view photos of children who are waiting for a sponsor and begin your sponsorship today. http://www.compassion.com/sponsor/index.asp?referer=43089 Your friend, Amy Grant |
